Pranamaya kosha

Among all the Koshas, this one really interest me because what happen to me the first time I did yoga was really unusual. After the first week of practicing yoga, i noticed that my cravings for earthly desires had increased to the highest level.  It was on a level that I had never experienced before. Such energy that in order for me to disperse it, I need to do more physical activity like handstands and other tiring stuff in yoga. It did work but every time I do the asanas surge of energy comes up after a few hours. That is why, I was really confused at that time on what to do, because I know sooner or later, if I can’t desipate the energy through physical activity, I might succumb  to  temptation.
As a result, I seek advice to a friend who happened to be a Buddhist monk, and then he told me that I need to sit and meditate.  And so I did (I tried meditation but I was not into it before).
So what happened was really astonishing. It didn’t really solve my problem at first but after a few weeks of meditation, I noticed that I was not afraid anymore if the energy will rise and I was not worried any longer if I succumb to temptation. It taught me to become an observer, and it made me realize that I don’t need to react on it. And if continue to observe, the strong urge or surge of energy it will slowly went away all by itself. That if I just be patient enough and don’t react, it will just slowly melt away.
It taught me how to cope with the profound truth that everything changes all the time.

"The most valuable person isn’t someone who can talk well. The reason why our creator gave us two ears and only one mouth is so that we can listen more and talk less. Listening to others, rather than talking too much, is the basic trait of a mature person. For leaders or managers, this characteristic is vital."
